P-40 Warhawk #160 Grorge S. Welch (1:90)The P-40 Warhawk is an American fighter that first flew in 1938 and was used by most Allied powers in World War II. They became well known as the aircraft of the famous Flying Tigers, the American Volunteer Group flying for the Chinese Air Force against the Japanese. P-40s were used by the Air Forces of 28 nations and gained reputation for durability and toughness.The P-40 was the main USAAF fighter aircraft in the Pacific Ocean theater during the early stages of World War II. During the attack on Pearl Harbor, most of the USAAF's P-40s were destroyed in the initial attack. However, a few P-40s managed to get in the air and shoot down several Japanese aircraft, most notably by George Welch and Kenneth Taylor. This Die-cast Metal airplane comes in 1:90 scale with plastic stand and model is approximately 4 1/8 inches long with 5 inch wingspan.
